UX Design
Learn to apply user experience best practices to improve customer- or employee-facing processes—for example, by creating intuitive forms or workflows. Shadow UX designers or product managers to see how they approach user feedback and design. Start by redesigning a single form or webpage using a wireframe tool like Figma. Solicit input from colleagues to iterate and improve.
Prompt Engineering
A tech skill that is in high demand is prompt engineering. Prompt engineering requires a strong background in languages, history, psychology and so on to create effective prompts that generate high-quality responses from large language models. This makes it a great skill for nontech professionals to pursue.
Data Analysis
One tech skill that many jobs need today is data analysis. People who are not tech experts can learn it, too. Many companies use data to make decisions, so knowing how to read and understand data is very helpful in many jobs—and it doesn’t cost anything besides effort.
